Designed for: Personnel who require training to enable them to use an automated external defibrillator (AED) as an extension of their first aid skills or to enable them to fulfil their role as part of an organised first aid scheme.

Objectives: How to use an automated external defibrillator (AED) when delivering resuscitation to a casualty.

  • Scene assessment and management
  • Barrier use
  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • Recovery position
  • Heart attacks
  • AED familiarisation
  • AED operation
  • Course questionnaires, evaluation and close

This course will include group discussions and exercises, finally concluding with a multi-choice questionnaire.

On completion of the course a certificate (valid for six months under current UK Resuscitation Council guidelines) awarded to each successful staff member. The participating Company are presented with a Corporate Certificate.
